“Shaozi Shenshu” refers to fate manuals and methods that turn birth information into numbers, hexagrams and indexed statements. A specific edition is a better starting point than a claim of direct transmission from Shao Yong.
Separate the works
The Siku notice attributes Huangji Jingshi Shu to Shao Yong and describes its historical time framework. That does not establish his authorship of every later personal-fate text bearing his name. Siku notice.
Google Books records Zhou Tongxin’s 345-page 2018 Shaozi Shenshu. Its description specifies five preparatory values and 6,144 statements arranged in twelve collections. Those details describe this edition’s claims, not a universal standard. Its historical and accuracy assertions are not independent evidence. Edition record.
Read the procedure
Record calendar and day-boundary conventions, conversion from birth information to numbers, hexagram mapping and statement selection. Combined traditions can be described faithfully by identifying each step’s source.
For comparison, fix the edition and algorithm, then assess information not already used to select statements. Matching known family details and counting those same details as fresh evidence reuses the data. A large indexed collection does not establish predictive accuracy.
